  • Paul Sheerin

    Chief Executive

Paul has been Chief Executive of Scottish Engineering since March 2018, having previously been involved as a member through the companies he worked with. His background is in control system engineering, starting in Civil Nuclear at Dounreay, where he grew up, and later as part of the Sizewell B project team. Paul’s career has also included time in the USA and roles at Polaroid in their Film, Camera, and Sunglass and Eyewear businesses. Before joining Scottish Engineering, he worked with B&W Diamond Power. Paul enjoys taking on long but leisurely cycling challenges, and he finds relaxation through cooking or music....

  • Rebecca Rigg

    Commercial Director

Rebecca has been with us since July 2016 and is our Commercial Director. She oversees operations and ensures the efficient running of the Scottish Engineering office, with responsibilities covering finance, business support, operational infrastructure, and policy development. Rebecca works closely with our Chief Executive on strategy and operational planning and frequently represents Scottish Engineering in industry groups, as well as at external and member events. She is passionate about addressing the gender gap in engineering and driving improvements in STEM skills, diversity, and inclusion across the industry....

Rebecca Rigg

Rebecca has been with us since July 2016 and is our Commercial Director. She oversees operations and ensures the efficient running of the Scottish Engineering office, with responsibilities covering finance, business support, operational infrastructure, and policy development. Rebecca works closely with our Chief Executive on strategy and operational planning and frequently represents Scottish Engineering in industry groups, as well as at external and member events.   • Lindsey Miller

    Legal & HR Support Manager

Lindsey is responsible for the Legal and HR team at Scottish Engineering and has been with us since September 1992. She’s also a practicing solicitor and an Associate Member of CIPD. She provides advice and guidance to member companies on employment law, aimed at keeping them away from Employment Tribunals, but also prepares cases and acts as a representative at Employment Tribunal Hearings. As part of the Legal & HR Team, she designs and presents various types of in-person and online training from legal updates to more practical skills for managers. Lindsey enjoys attending yoga and circuits classes, occasionally runs a 10K, and often hosts family events....

Lindsey Miller

    Operations & Events Manager

Marie has been with us since January 2014, and her role involves training the Business Support Staff to ensure they develop the skills needed for their positions. She also provides vital support to the Legal Team, managing diaries, meetings, and typing. Marie organises our Member Networking Events, typically around three per month, as well as arranging the Scottish Engineering Annual Awards Dinner each year. In addition, she helps promote our FLM and SELF Training Courses and coordinates room bookings for members who wish to hold meetings at our office. Outside work, Marie enjoys going to the theatre, spending time with family and keeping fit at the gym....

Marie McCormack

  • John Campbell

    Former President, Membership Development

John has led our membership development drive since August 2018. He has been involved with Scottish Engineering for over 20 years through membership, including 2 years as President of Scottish Engineering. John has spent over 30 years in the power generation and energy sector, including executive and board positions in both plc and family owned businesses. John is our Armed Forces Champion, drawing on his involvement and experience of the Royal Navy and Army Reserves, and is a keen supporter of defence people. John enjoys spending time with his wife at their caravan in Argyll, walking in the hills and forests, and messing about in boats....

John Campbell

John has led our membership development drive since August 2018. Eric joined us with a versatile professional background spanning three decades in innovation, product development (NPD), compliance, quality standards, and regulations. His experience covers a range of sectors where he has been instrumental in delivering cutting-edge products. Eric’s expertise includes managing the entire product lifecycle, and his work has resulted in multiple international patents and published papers. Outside of work, Eric enjoys sailing....

  • Pauline Burns

    Finance Manager

Pauline has been with us since 1990, bringing over 34 years of experience to her role as Finance Manager. As Finance Manager, Pauline’s responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, managing the yearly audit, and overseeing day-to-day accounting activities. She also plays a key role in survey analytics, generating monthly pay awards, and contributing to Quarterly Review analysis. Pauline enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, shopping, and video calling with her daughter Lucy in South Korea....

Pauline Burns

Pauline has been with us since 1990, bringing over 34 years of experience to her role as Finance Manager. As Finance Manager, Pauline’s responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, managing the yearly audit, and overseeing day-to-day accounting activities.   • Edward Cadden

    IT Specialist

Eddie joined Scottish Engineering in February 2023 as our IT Specialist. He is responsible for supporting all our cloud based systems, networking and cyber security requirements. Eddie also has a key role in the adoption of digital technology, identifying suitable technologies to support membership development. He was previously the founding director of an IOT technology company, working on remote monitoring technologies for SMS Energy. He spent 25 years as an instructor with the Royal Naval Reserves and is a commercial Yachtmaster, although now only sails for fun....

Edward Cadden

Eddie joined Scottish Engineering in February 2023 as our IT Specialist. He is responsible for supporting all our cloud based systems, networking and cyber security requirements.   • Kevin Duffy

    Solicitor & Legal Adviser

Kevin has been with us since November 2019, and his role comprises advising member companies on employment law issues such as disciplinary, grievance or flexible working. He is an accredited specialist in employment and discrimination law by the Law Society of Scotland, and his background was in engineering before he retrained as a solicitor. Kevin enjoys the variety in his role: one day he can be advising the HR director of a multi-national PLC, and assisting the owner/manager of an SME the next. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys cycling and playing guitar....

Kevin Duffy

Kevin has been with us since November 2019, and his role comprises advising member companies on employment law issues such as disciplinary, grievance or flexible working. He is an accredited specialist in employment and discrimination law by the Law Society of Scotland, and his background was in engineering before he retrained as a solicitor. Kevin enjoys the variety in his role: one day he can be advising the HR director of a multi-national PLC, and assisting the owner/manager of an SME the next. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys cycling and playing guitar.
