Net Zero Programme

Empowering Scottish Businesses: Your Path to Net Zero

With a global focus on decarbonisation a key part of COVID economic recovery, our Net Zero Support programme will help ensure that SMEs are ready to play a role in Scotland’s green recovery, and can take full advantage of opportunities for diversification, strengthening sustainability and planning their own net-zero route map.

The programme was developed in response to feedback from member companies in early 2020, when an overwhelming 92% acknowledged the reality of the climate emergency and the urgent need for action. In 2024, the challenges remain significant. Whilst 75% of companies now attribute revenue growth to their sustainability efforts and 63% still believe it is the right path forward, many SMEs face critical barriers, including a lack of financing and incentives (66%), inadequate tools (52%), and insufficient skills and knowledge (29%).

This programme, open to all SMEs in the Scottish engineering and manufacturing sectors, aims to address these challenges. It offers a series of online workshops and one-on-one sessions, providing essential training, skills development and access to digital tools and resources designed to support sustainability efforts.
